Pilates,
riding and training horses have an important element in
common, each requires that the core of the body be
stabilised in order to generate and control the energy
from the centre into free flowing movements of the rest
of the body.
Pilates helps to control the centre of the body so as to
make the other parts of the body more effective.
Pilates helps the rider to lengthen and use the spine,
it also corrects all mis-alignment of muscles.
In a rider, if one inner thigh muscle is weaker than the
other the horse will fell this and this in turn could
affect their left or right turns.
Pilates above all will strengthen your back, your core
muscles and make you a stronger rider.
